Happy 2017 to our friends and customers! We're excited and honored to be starting another year on Beach Drive, serving our community the best way we know how—with food and drink to satisfy any meal, for any occasion. Thank you to all who celebrated the end of 2016 with us at our New Year's Eve party, or welcomed 2017 in our company at our New Year's Day brunch. We look forward to a great year ahead and hope you will join us.

WHAT'S NEW IN 2017

As we all wind down from the holidays and take a fresh look at the year ahead, Cassis is refreshing a few things in house as well. January will see a handful of updates to our menu, in addition to a brand new bar menu available later this month. We'll continue to host our monthly bartending workshop, the Sunday Stir, and push it to be an even more engaging and entertaining way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Finally, our chef is sharing one of Cassis's signature recipes with our email list each month, highlighting some of our favorite dishes and revealing the secrets of how they're made.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

TUNA TARTARE
 
line
5 oz fresh tuna, diced ½ inch cubes

1 avocado, diced ½ inch cubes

juice of ½ an orange

juice of ½ a lime

juice of ½ a lemon

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
 
1 tablespoon water

4 tablespoons extra virgin
olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

2 scallions, finely chopped

1 small bunch of chives,
finely chopped
 

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and refrigerate. Serves four.

 
SPICY AIOLI

½ habañero pepper

¼ white onion

1 teaspoon crushed garlic
 
salt and pepper to taste

½ cup chicken stock

1 cup mayonnaise
 

In a saute pan on medium high heat, sweat the habañero, onion, and garlic until soft and slighty brown. Season with salt and pepper.

Using a food processor, pulse the habañero, onion and garlic until smooth, slowly adding chicken stock. When mix is cool, add mayonnaise and refrigerate.
